Hey Guys lets start from the begining, my starter seems to be buggered and my car has an over heating problem which I think might be the gasket, I replaced the water pump, viscous fan and front oil seals the otherday. just to be sure putt in a pint of oil (all I had at the time) and took her to my spares shop to get some more.
She seemed to be running well, the temp gauge didnt seem to move. got some oil, put it in and took her for a test. Giving her a little push to get her started.

The temp gauge gave me no indication that she was over heating, but the I noticed a little puff of smoke from the bonnet every time I stoped at a robot/traffic light.

Took her home quick and parked her as she was well and truly over heating.

I let her cool down over night, replaced the water as the resevoir was empty (Thanks to the gasket I think) and most of the oil seemd to have burnt away (smoke at traffic lights) .When I tried to start her in reverse (out my drive way) the next morning I couldnt get anything. I had to turn her around and start her in second. Which only happened half way down the next block.

When started she had this very ruff sounding idle, and kept "hunting" for revs.

I have heard that there is a vacum pipe at the bottom of the engine that has given this sort of result, I just cant find it.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
