Hi

Is it possible to adjust the tappets on this engine as mine sounds a wee bit like 1.3 ford fiesta at the moment

They are self adjusting and hydraulic. if they are noisy it is because they have become stuck with old oil n stuff.

You can fix them, but it's a PITA.
Or you can buy new ones
Or just live with the noise

You cant get the oil out of the tappets because it doesn't circulate through them.
Once it's in them it just hardens over time.
The best thing to do is change them and check the camshaft for wear while you have it open.

www.motormec.co.uk have a kit for 200 quid that replaces the tappets, cam and rockers. You need a couple of new seals and gaskets on top of that but that will cure it.
