Bought a cheapo cone filter at Halfords on Saturday
Problem is it is one of the ones where you just have a jubilee clip to secure the rubber lip around the AFM. Once you get the standard airbox off the AFM all you are left with is 4 studs sticking out.
Is there some sort of adaptor plate you have to buy or have other Zoners found a way around this?
Before anyone comments, I have also got some meaty ducting and some sheet metal to make up a heat shield, so should have decent cold air flow. If it is shit, I will take it off and stick my standard airbox and K&N panel filter back in.
Cone filter fitting to AFM

I had the same prob when fitting my K&n cone filter and i sawed the buggers off , ive since found out that they actually screw out
.
get 2 nuts and screw them onto one of the studs, tighten them up togethor
and then unscrew from the afm, this is what ive been told anyway.
I hope i'm making sense
Dont saw em off whatever you do, as youll never get the standard box back on, to be honest though my car performs much better with the standard box on anyway so ive converted back to standard(using another afm and box) Pulls much harder now .

thanks mate
did you have a decent cold air feed going to yours?
I've got to try it anyway, if only for the noise, until I get bored and, I will notice and miss any drop in performance, so if it sucks it will be coming straight off

Yeah i got a cold air feed pipe that came with it, i positioned it just behind the grill. It did sound nice though
Give it a try and see what you think, i convinced myself my car was quicker but when i put the standard box back on (after 3yrs) i really felt the difference.
If you want that induction sound, drill some holes in the bottom half of your filter box.
