Can anyone help me please?

Having just spent Ԛ£400 on new front wishbones and rear subframe bushes, I'm annoyed to find that I still have vague steering and changing lane lane on the motorway generates lots of body roll. :x

Having looked around I think that my rear shock adsorbers are to blame. When I bounce the front of the car I get 1.5 'bounces' but when I do the same at the rear it just keeps on going and I get 5-6 'bounces'

So the question is:
Is it an easy job to do myself and where is best to get standard shocks from? Also are the shocks for the 325i Touring different to saloons? My ETK gives different part numbers, but GSF and ECP list the same part numbers?

If anyone can shed some light I'd be grateful
Cheers

Rear damper changing is an easy job. You don't even need to jack the car up ( but it helps ).
Touring is complicated a bit by the need to remove inside trim and rear seat belt cassettes.
Remove the damper complete with it's top mount and sererate thetwo when they're off the car, and similarly assemble the new ones. Rear top mounts could probably do with changing as well.
Just remove the two 13mm nuts holding the top mount and the 19mm bolt holding the bottom and they will fall off. Don't let the rear hub fall with a bang when you remove the damper.

Depending on the condition you can do the top mounts while your at it. The whole thing looks a little bit like this:

Image
Top mount - bolt in the middle holds the damper into the top mounts and the two little ones next to it hold the top mount in. I used a mole wrench to hold the damper still so I could undo the bolt holding it.

Old top mount next to the new one. The part is actually from an E46 convertable (as recommended by some one on this forum :) - cant find the link at the moment)

And the other thing holding it in is the bolt at the bottom.

Very easy to swap them out :)

Cheers Guys, parts are on order so that will be my job for the weekend. I've gone for the E46 top mounts :D as they'll probably need doing too.

This was the link where they are suggested....
