passenger elec mirror

right, as per header my passenger mirror doesnt seem to want to operate but drivers side is fine.
its strange because when i select the passenger one i get a little knocking noise comming from the driver side as if its trying to engage that one

any ideas?

The knocking noise is the clutch that switches bstween side to side and up/down. There's only one motor in the mirrors that does both jobs.
It's another door hinge pillar socket problem, I'm afraid.
Since the passenger mirror wiring goes through both door pillar sockets, it could be either side.

Mine makes the knocking, and the passenger mirror will only come in or go down, won't go up or go out. Is this the same prob? Cos the drivers door one works fine.
