There is a black plug with a cap on in the engine bay. For m20 engines (2.0+2.5) it near the inlet manifold on the radiator side. For m40 engine (1.6+1.8 ) its on the bulkhead near the fuse box.
Look in the link above for pin 7 location in the plug.

As link above for the service lights.
Oil level sensor:
Static oil level sensor, pin 1, blue/purple is short circuit to earth pin (brown/orange) when oil level is full. Open circuit when low.
Dynamic oil level sensor, pin2, blue/white, is short circuit to earth pin when low and 1000 ohms to earth when full.

Which one is PIN 7 on the cap (late model)?
I tried to use a jumper wire yesterday between the two red dots, as shown in the above URL, but my SI lights naver came on after the 3/4 second period...waited for longer but still no lights?
It says use a 'fused' wire? I was just using an ordinary piece of wire.
Might just try shorting PIN7 to the body now...if i can figure out which one is pin7?

It's marked on the socket, but not entirely obvioius which number applies to which pin.
No need to use a fuse (if you get the right pin), and shorting to ground is fine.
3/4 seconds is 3 to 4 seconds, not three quqrters of a second, and I would say it's more like 6 to 7 seconds.
If the service lights won't reset, or give invalid LED combinations, then the NiCd batteries on your SI board are probably dead.

Okay thanks.
Just another quick one, are we talking about the pins on the actual cap (the four pins)?
