Hello all. After 4 days of straight rain (and my car being out in it) I have found that I can't turn the locks on my beautiful (falling to pieces) 320i. The boot lock works fine. Am going to take apart doors to check it out, but am wondering what I need to look at in the way of sealing so water can't affect the locks. Am I on the right track? or is their other things I should look at. Cheers!

If u can get hold of a cheapworking central locking controller (little black box) then change it! it solved all the probs relating to my locks ect,.

key turning in drivers door but not locking
couldnt lock drivers door with door open
central locking not working (obv.)

unscrew pass. footwell speaker pannel. two goldish screws in a vertical line holding the black box on via a bracket.

unscrew and swap,. and hopefully all should be sweet again! :D

And find out why the sill is filling with water instead of draining.
Don't take the doors apart - the problem is most likely the locks ECU, as johnono says, or the socket where the door plugs in on the driver's door hinge pillar.
