Hi. I've been looking at the possibility of getting an M3 i've seen advertised. No MOT needs welding but starts. Its fairly cheap and i'm under no dillusions about the priece a crappy car car end up costing you.

On the other hand I dont really care if a car is tatty, as long as it is fixable and goes well.

As for looking at this tatty M3.. What are the absolute no no's? Some things are more likely to be terminal than others so I'm looking to you guys to help...

Many thanks in advance

If it's about 2k, then if the shit hits the fan, you could break the car, and still almost make your money back.
Give the engine a good going over, and make sure you take it for a good test drive at all sorts of speeds and temps and make sure it runs ok, this is the area that would eat your money up if it alll went Pete Tong.

If its the white one for 2 bags , don't worry its long gone.
Unless you can do most of the donkey work yourself buying a dog is false economy, it will cost more in the long run and you will despair with all the bodgers and cowboys who will be taking lots of your money for mediocre work.

Donkey work is my forté...

I'd do all the work myself. Its really only the price of parts that could pose me a problem.
