I understand there is a few things that have to be changed if you put an early m20 2.5 into a late 325i.

What things?

Thanks

Hi Wilson,

I did a bit of a write up on this ages ago. Unfortunately I don't still have a copy.

Fortunately, I believe Ant does.

Cheers,

Ian.

I do have Ians bible on my HD still fellas, it relates to the ECU and loom swopping about, its in Excel format so if you email me on the ant@e30zone (guess the rest ) I'll forward what I have.

hardware wise its swop the engine looms over, late front pulley, timing cover and pulse generator, swop the injector wiring over for the late type(bolts to rail), you'll need a post 88 waterpump swopped accross too, or swop in the complete colling setup from the earlier car.

If I think of more I'll post it up, Wilson,JungleGus Pms recieved, mail me fellas OK

Oh right.......hhmmmm, Jhonno has one for sale real near to me... http://www.e30zone.co.uk/modules.php?na ... ic&t=11793 my engines got a bit of bottom end knocking, (nothing to cry about will prob go for a while), but as this engine was cheap and especially cause it is nearby thought I'd get it and simple swap, but as above, not just a simple swap!!!!

But if I was gonna do this, then I might aswell fit the the 24v engine, or even bigger engine etc etc, and for now the car isn't really good enough to justify it!!

if you dont want to stick with late management then there are no issues...

personally as a budget spec'd motor an early lump on late management with a lightend flywheel, a zone wild chip and a bbtb would make a pukka and fast lump.. i'd be tempted to take something like that to the 'Ring..

Are you saying that management etc doesn't have to be changed :? :? :? and that I could just bolt the lump in and go?
