I have two E30's, both D reg. one a 318 and the other a 325i. The 325i has beed accident damaged, so I want to transplant the engine and gearbox into the 318. Does anyone know how big a job this is, does the wiring loom have to be changed to accomadate the engine management for the 325i engine?

Best regards,

Roland.

It's quite a big job all in the grand scheme of things. I wouldn't call it a difficult one but it depends on your knowledge.

You'll need:

Engine
Gearbox
Prop
Diff
Wiring Loom
ECU
Suspension
Rear Brakes if you want any chance of stopping
Instrument cluster coding plug

Thanks for the info Adam.
I am looking for a car for the BMW RWD Rally Challenge.
I still need a 3.64 LSD for a 325.
Any one know where I can get hold of one?

Regards,

Roland

I'd be more concerned about the front brakes than the rears. For a car to be used for rallying, the 318 rear drums could be an advantage. Much better for handbrake turns
