Anyone know the part number for the two black plastic screws that go into the rear end of the bottom plastic sill trim (tourings and SEs) by the back wheel please. I can't see that they appear on the parts catalogue:

The screws go into grommets that fix into the sill trim.

You've got the wrong diagram.( Not sure I have either): http://bmwfans.info/original/E30/tou/32 ... l-51_1536/
Possibly 15 on this.
If we're both thinking of the same part, they're not screws - just a pull out/push in pin.

Thank you Brian. Not the most interesting question on my part I'm afraid. The screws are at the back end of the door sill covering (side skirt) so I think the picture I was using ( http://bmwfans.info/original/E30/tou/32 ... l-51_0655/ ) is correct. I can only think its No. 10 on that but it doesn't really look right. Also it's in two parts, the screw (tiny inset cross headed) and an expanding grommet.

The diagram in your link is for the trim half way up the outside of the doors, and the short bits in line with them on the body.
Don't go by the pics on these diagrams. They often don't look anything like the part in question.

Thanks Brian. Isn't the trim half way up the door ('bumper trim') diagram number:

http://bmwfans.info/original/E30/tou/32 ... l-51_0756/

The side skirt, as you'll know is in two parts as per diagram:

http://bmwfans.info/original/E30/tou/32 ... l-51_0655/

I'll take on board your advice re the pictures not necessarily looking like the part. Thanks.

I think I've got hold of the wrong end of the stick here! I thought you were referring to the trim on the door sill that retains the edges of the carpet, and has a single rivet behind the side bolsters inside the car.
You're right about 'bumper trim' ; there isn't enough parts in my link!
The rivets in your original link go into the ends of the sill, right against the tyres, and are the type where you use a parallel punch to push the pin right through to release. I can't think of any with the screw in the centre on the sills.
