Got the 325 back today with it's replacement head. However, i noticed a noise i hadn't heard before around 3k revs and above. The tappets sound noisy (as they always do - i'm getting them set-up again this weekend), but they get noticeably and suddenly louder above something like 3k revs.
The head is fitted with a 272/284 cam with the associated uprated springs.
Any ideas what's going on?
New head - new problems?

You're right, it could. It shouldn't be the exhaust manifold gasket though because that was changed when the head was replaced. The injectors are quite rightly the other suspect, but i cant think why they would have got noisier after this rebuild and also when above 3k revs.TOURINGDADDY wrote:this sound could also b manifold gasket or injectors
I just wondered if it could be anything to do with the cam and/or springs?

Could it be the valve clearances?

I'm taking it easy in the car for now until i get the valve clearances set up again on Saturday. We'll see if this cures the problem.
