Too bad you didn't get a reply on this. I'm curious because I'd like to change over the manual rear windows on my Touring too. If you make the conversion, make sure to post with all the deets. Good luck!

as far as i am aware it is in the bottom of the pillar, i am not sure if this is on all E30's but on both of mine it was there, after removing the trim and digging about for a bit, i eventually manage to feed it up to the doors, but had to buy a few grommet/rubbers from dealer, hopefully some one with more knowledge will give you the exact instructions on what you need

If your car has factory fitted electric front windows, then you will also have the wiring for the rear windows at least up to a socket inside the rear door hinge pillars. You may or may not have the short loom that goes from the pillars to the inside of the doors fitted.
To do the conversion, you will need :-
The electric motors and metal guide plates complete. Very easy to fit, once you get inside the doors. Wind the glass alittle way down until you can get at the two fixing bolts, then wedge the glass.
The short looms to the doors, if not alredy fitted.
A few cable ties.
Door cards from the donor, or a sharp craft knife to cut out the ready marked switch position, and something to blank off the manual winder hole.
Four window switches and the inhibitor switch that disconnects the door switches.
The sharp craft knife again to cut out the pre marked holes in the front console
