hey,
got a 318i touring and i know I´ve got the classic leaky fuel line cause i can smell it on start up but can´t find the bugger anywhere, just wondering whats the best way to spot the leak, engine running or not?.

where are the most likely places i should look,
any help would be great,

they crack! (mine squirted)

On the M40 engine there is a sneaky well hidden hose buried under the inlet manifold,you need to remove the top of the manifold to get at the swine.Another place to check is at the point where the filler pipe attaches to the tank. Have a look under the car and grab the flexible rubber pipe between the tank and filler pipe.The stub pipe into the tank should not pull away.... :cry:

on the fuel filler neck
check for blotchy underseal
Don't you wish there were a knob on the TV to turn up the intelligence? There's one marked 'Brightness', but it doesn't work.
