Oh those things, i used a 19mm 12point socket, tapping stick (large-ish) and a 24" breaker bar when i lost the key to mine on a previous car, longest part of the job was getting the bolts back out of the socket in the vice.
The E30 still has the origional locking nuts with a key..... fiddly little buggers they are
Just found them on ebay, they are ford locking nuts, seen them removal tools alright, any use??? might try hammering the socket on first and see how I get on, cheers
The top shiney bit is hardend, they just blunt the cheaper locknut removal tools and the proper ones cost a fortune, the ford ones are Mcguard iirc but there is no master key.
they are the best you can buy just about.
i destroyed about 3 chisels at work trying to get a set of these off.....
because the chisel wouldnt make a dent in it, just kept bouncing off. what i ended up doing was using a die grinder to make a knotch in the edge of the head for the chisel to sit in so i could whack them round......
