right here's\ the story. Had a go with a colleague in a Clio 172 tonight and he couldn't catch me. However, as I was revelling in the glum expression on his face in my r view mirror, I did notice a wee bit of smoke being jetted up from the upswept dtm pipes.

Now my car has done 152K, had the head rebuilt at 95K with new valve seats, stem seals etc and it doesn't chuff anything out on startup. So I am ruling out stem seals.

When Cabrio327i (Dave) was having the odd blast with me on the way back from the leeds meet in May he did say there was a tiny bit of smoke, but only when I was giving it some real beans.

I have noticed it when i'm flat to the floor and it's singing past 5.5-6K. Is this likely to be piston rings or perhaps overfueling? I have got a mild cam fitted, ecu remap, ported head & uprated FPR.

Anyone got any ideas?

when I first got my touring had it up at 125 (indicated) then got off the throttle real sharpish--

huge plume of smoke from the zorst 8O 8O

can has been runnin fine ever since (original lady owner obv didnt cane it at all  )

as for your smoke-likely to be a small amount of oil getting past the stem seals-nothing to worry about!

just keep an eye on the oil level and keep it topped up!
