Yes, the rubber fuel pipes between the fuel rail / fuel pressure regulator and the passenger side chassis rail.

few places to look

Fuel hoses under the bonnet as mentioned, the fuel filter and hoses going to it, depending on model of car the filter is sometimes on the passenger innner wing under the bonnet, on 325's often the filter is under the car, in front of the passenger rear wheel.

Finally, the hoses and pipes coming from the top of the fuel tank, lifting inspection holes under the rear seat base will reveal the top of the tank where the sender unit and pump are located, check around there for smells and split hoses

The fuel tanks also rust with age, check where the main fuel pipe from the filler cap runs into the tank, the metal spout/join on the tank can go porus.

if you have an iS, the problem will be the short rubber fuel lines that connect to the fuel rail under the inlet manifold.
Either the line is perished or the jubilee clip is loose.

While you are looking in that area, also check the condition of the injectors.
The o-rings can leak when the engine is cold.

I have inspected mine yesterday as there is a smell of fuel on my 316 touring, the pipe doesn't look to be in very good shape.

What are the options when it comes to sorting this out? IE can i get a silicone/rubber hose to replace the corroded metal one?

Seems to be happening a lot now these motors are getting near the 20 year old state. Take the inlet manifold off and give the whole fuel system under there a good looking over and replace as necessary. This is one of the tasks I'm going to be undertaking in the next week or so, before it gets worse.
Not in E30s any more :(
