Hello i have just had my sport sprayed and it had a sunroof in but did not work, once the sprayer had taken it appart the rollers were slightly bent and so he said that i have to get new ones if i do need to a friend told me that when i install the roof it could rip the rear roof lining if incorrectly set up is this likely? and how big of a job isit to change? also the existing rollers dont seem that bad? advice ideas would be greatly appreciated

There is nothing that I know off in the E30 sunroof mechanism that could be described as rollers.
Is this a factory fitted OE sunroof, or an aftermarket one?

There's no frame as such. A BMW E30 with an OE sunroof uses a different bodyshell from one without.
Theres nothing particularly difficult about working on the E30 sunroof. First thing to do is remove the hatch itself.
Slide the roof partly back, catch hold of the front of trim panel, and pull it down at the front, uncliping five(?) spring clipsfrom the metal hatch.
Slide the trim panel fully back to expose the underside of the metal hatch.
Put the roof in the tilt position, and from inside the car looking outwards, you will see three torx headed screws each side.
Unscrew these and the metal hatch lifts out.
You can now power the roof mechanism over and back, and tilt, and can see how it all works.
Especially check that the two sides are in sync with each other.
If you do any further dismanteling, then beware of the two stainless steel pieces each side. They have razor sharp edges.
