Sealing new rear lights

I have just bought a pair of rear pre-facelift lights which came with the foamy seal things. Is that all that goes behind the lights or do I need to add some sealant or anything of that nature.
And on the eighth day God created........The E30!

nope, just dont overtighten the gasket.
