Removed the black box from under the speaker in the footwell and found that it was at fault. Managed to fix it and the locking was working fine. Then i found that i couldn't turn the key and unlock the door. ( :x ) Luckily i managed to get back in through the passenger door and disconected the system. I think the actuator in the drivers door might have gone but has anyone else got any ideas. Plus how hard is it to change an actuator?

change a central locking actuator is pretty simple

you have to remove the door panelling, simple enough
actuator has 2 * 10mm bolts , just bolts on to the door .
the lock stem just hooks on to the top of the eye .just under there is where you'll see the 2 bolts which hold the actuator on
the electrics just pull in and out simple enough
reckon if i can do it anyone can
got some from mine if you want m8 as well as i recently stripped my doors down.

Cheers for that.
I've had another look and after all that i'm starting to wonder if its actually the lock cylinder thats gone wrong. It won't turn 90' without feeling like its going to snap the key. Does this sound right to anyone?
