right chap's iv just fitted my 2.5 engine everything is done i and went to bolt on my 6 branch manifold, bad move as the manifold is sitting on the oil filter and it wont fit at all now

when i had the manifold made it was made for the 320i which didnt have the oil cooler on it, now this is the only thing stopping me turning the key,
so my question's are...........

1) change the filter housing and just go back to the normal filter without cooler?

2) ditch the manifold and keep the oil cooler?

3) if this is possible, can the housing be rotated 180 or evan can the filter be pointed down over??

4) is there anywhere i can get a smaller oil filter :? ?

cheers 8)

I recently rebuilt a 325 engine. I am pretty sure that the oil filter housing can only fit if one position because there are oilways in it that match up with the block. I may be wrong but it would be worth checking before you start the engine and find you haven't any oil pressure....

right i had a second thought,
insted of moving the housing (just incase it does play up with the oilways)
i have opted for a smaller filter, yeah granted its a smaller filter and i know it'll have to be changed more often, but hey it works and thats fine by me,

and on a sadder note,

i cant evan fire the 2.5 for the first time as i have a flat battery

but iv got a mate comming over hopefully sooooon
