I believe its causing the fuel problem on my new 325is, its situated under the coil.
Can anyone tell me what this is and what it does?

Damn???? should it be earthed? The car wouldn't rev over 3 till my mate gave it a knock. Then all of a sudden the engine was running differently (smoother) and hitting limiter. Same happened last nite when i had to move the car. 1st mile she kept cutting out, then all of a sudden the change happened and she went right through 2nd and 3rd gear which was like losing my virginty all over again hearing that straight six roar

If thumping something under the coil gave a short term fix perhaps the coil is your culprit...
