2 Door Central Locking

When I get out of my car and lock the driver's door with the key, it will no longer lock the passenger's door too? I have to walk around the car and manually lock it. Same happens when I go to open the driver's door with the key, the passenger's door stays locked? The fuel filler lid and boot still lock and unlock correctly when I operate the driver's door key.

If anyone knows much about the central locking system on these cars then please advise a possible problem / solution. I'd like a bit of an idea before I go taking off door trims...

Hi, not much help from me except that ... same happens to my 2-door 318is. Worse, sometimes I unlock the driver's door and the fuel lid stays locked!!!

It sounds like the lock motor in the passengers door has failed to me. Mine did a similar thing once, and another motor fixed the problem.
