Gary,
Are you referring to the rubber coupling in the joint that connects the steering column to the steering rack ?
Ian.

The rubber coupling is BMW part No 32 31 1 153 993.
Assuming you still have the original fitted, then it will be secured by some factory fitted rivets. To fit the new one, you have to drill out the rivets, and fit some nuts, bolts & washers. You can't use any old bolt, as they have a special shoulder to locates into the metal parts of the joint. Here are the BMW part numbers for the required parts.
32 31 1 153 995 - Bolts - 4 required
07 11 9 932 095 - Washers - 8 required
07 12 9 946 400 - Nuts - 4 required
You are looking at about Ԛ£21 for these parts from the dealer. I believe you can get the rubber coupling cheaper from ECP or GSF, but the bolts will probably need to come from the dealer.
Cheers,
Ian.
