put the 16s on a while ago and my steering wheel started shaking at all speeds so just went and got them balanced up but it hasnt changed a thing

what else can cause this as im planning to go buy some bushes etc tmoro so whats best to change first to cure the wobble on the wheels and steering??????????????

Check the wheels are round too :D , my vibrations were caused by two sqaurer than they should have been wheels. No matter how many weights they tried  did not want to run true. Other than that check there is no play in the suspension, steering and brake areas, a fooked ball joint on mine gave me some weird steering feedback.

watched em balance em up and theres quite a few weights gone on but they did look ok on the balencer

i thort of the wheel nuts too have checked em a couple of times
might try swappin em front to back and see what theyre like then worth a try

think im gonna put 2bottom arms new on tmora as they dnt look great so maybe that will help??? if not have to keep changing bits till its solved  more cash to find

are the wheel mating faces clean, are the spigots ok.

The wheel could be as straight as you like but if it's not sitting squarely on the hub it will wobble like a good un.

also, if the wheela are aftermarket and the correct spigots haven't been used the wheel can possibly run out of round, but the garage that balanced the wheels should have spotted that.

Probably won't be, but check the steering rubber universal joint.

Other than that swap the front and rear wheels over and see if its still doing it.

if the center bore is bigger and you havent got spiggots then that is the problem
try and get metal ones though as the plastic ones and deform eay

Spigots are either plastic or metal rings (metal ones better) that fit over the centre of the hub, they take up the space between the hub and the wheels mounting flange if you get what I mean.

It makes the wheel sit centrally on the hub rather than moving up and down if you look at the wheel from the side.

I would try an aftermarket wheel specialist. Or failing that, Halfords

Basically anywhere that sells alloy wheels should have them or be able to get them.

I can't remember how much they are, I can't see it being very much, probably Ԛ£20 or something for a set

any car parts place that sells wheels should be able to get them for you.
