wheel hub grub screw removal

any tips wouls be appreciated

the grub screw which holds the disc to the hub is siezed on .
drilled it and oiled it and heated it to get the disc off which then caused the thing to turn but only the head which came off
tried the same again on the remainder but no joy

what is my options

if you can get the disk off it should be all ok

the screw only holds the disk on in the right spot while you put the wheel on


but a pair off mole grips might do it. or hacksaw wats left and leave it.

if you cant get the disk off then get a big club hammer and hit the back of the disk . that will break the screw and then u can carry on!

i got the disc off that was done with a little persuassion

the problem is the bit left in the hub needs to come out so i can put a new grub screw in

I wouldn't worry to much about putting a new screw in, they're not needed, they only hold the disc still to make it easier putting a wheel on., the wheel studs will hold the disc in place once the wheel is on.

If you don't put the grub screw in. Make sure the hole in the disk aligns with the broken stud.
If the broken screw stands proud it could hold the disk off at an angle

if you have trouble lining the holes up for the wheel nuts, theres a tool in you bmw tool kit that does it

the one with the plastic handle
