Am about to replace the shockabsorbers on a 325i with just over 200k mileage. Springs were replaced at least some 100k ago. Do they need replacing again please.

It wouldnt hurt if your going to go through the effor of changing the shocks.
Do you want lowering springs? If so look in the group buys section and there are H&R springs available.
Whaty shocks are you going for?
