Hi everyone,
New to the zone, but not too e30 s its my fourth one, just about to buy another 4 dr 325i,dolphin grey, but im afraid im not mechanically minded and leave all this to mechanics.
Wondered if any one can help, the car i am buying has had the oil cooler removed, and by passed, why i dont know,is it essential to the running, were they a standard fitment?
Can it cause probs with the running, also i am looking for a new interior in leather or cloth preferably sports style in grey or black, drivers fog lamp and black gutter trim?
thanks Nikki

I have an oil cooler and hoses for sale if you want to return it to original spec. I think it will just run hotter with out the cooler. there is a thermostat style thing in the oil filter housing which only lets the oil circulate in the cooler if it is above a certain pressure (barostat??? hmm!)
The only reason I can think of for it being removed is if it was punctured etc and a replacement was too expensive at the time.
Drop me an email and give me an offer if you want it - widget@blueyonder.co.uk

The oil cooler is not really essential for the average British climate, and certainly lack of it won't affect the running.
It was a standard fitting on 325s, and you can refit one if you can get one at the right price.
