I've just spent an exhausting afternoon fitting ATE Power discs, Pagid fast road pads and Goodridge hoses to my 318iS; however, at the rear, the original hoses have a male connector at the caliper end, whilst the replacements have female at either end. :x

I take it there are different types of caliper, and I've just been unlucky? In any case, is it possible to get adapters so I can fit them? If not it's Ԛ£60 down the tubes; I can't send them back as I'd already fitted the fronts!

Hi mate, how many hoses were in the pack? Sounds to me like you've got a 4 line kit for cars with drums on the rear, and the hoses you have left are to replace the flexi hoses that go over the rear trailing arm, for cars with discs on the rear you need the 6 line kit...

They were a four hose set... There are only two choices, either kits for ABS and non-ABS. Mine is non-ABS, so I ordered accordingly.

ABS or non-ABS makes no difference.

My 318iS hasn't got ABS, but still has a 6 line kit as you need to replace the flexi hoses that are at the front of the trailing arms where they pivot on the subframe. 4 matching lines for the calipers, and a different pair for the trailing arm joint.

Like Simon says, you've bought a kit for a 'rear drum' car by the sounds of it.

Bugger.

Giles.

Cheers Giles.

I'll get onto Demon Tweeks, they need to be clearer about what's what.

Pisser, means I'll have to take it all apart again...
