Why are exhaust manifolds bolted on with studs and nuts, and not just bolts??

Would it matter if I used a few 8mm bolts instead of the studs as I'm missing a few!!

Urgent answers are appreciated as I'm doing it now, and I'll keep popping back to the PC to look for answer!!!!!!

Thanks

sorted i,ll try remember for when i do mine how long are they ???

only snag is lining up the gaskets unless theyre still in one piece get new ones Daz

as long as they dnt crossthread when they go in no probs just match the stud threads to the bolts
