hi guys,
my (ex) mate went and filled up my 1988 320i with diesel. it was only driven a short way accross the garage forecourt and we then syphoned pretty much all of it and filled the tank full of unleaded and cleaned the spark plugs. the beast spluttered into life eventually and we took it for a ten minute drive after which it seemed to be running smoothly.
it has been sat for a couple of months and now it refuses to start at all, i've tried changing the spark plugs but still nothing, it barely even tries to fire up.
any ideas?
cheers
a 320 full of diesel!

petrol floats on top of diesel!!!! so now its been stood there will be an inch or two of diesel under the petrol. its just getting the diesel as the pick up is lowdown in the tank.
take the feed pipe off the fuel rail bridge the fuel pump relay. and get a couple of litres of it out. then put it back together and try it.
no need to change the filter really.
