Any ideas why this let go like this?
As i said before no knocking noises or tapping, nothing irregular at all.

Finally got ur finger out and stripped it, lol
By the looks of things bud, that heads had some work done to it in the past, albeit not very good work, either somebody's been there before and not done a top notch job (very likely) or that valves just burn out and gave up the will to live (less likely).
IF it's had victor reinz parts on it someones been there on the cheap for a guess.

Cool, so some dodgy work before has killed it. Was well surprised that it went like it did tho.

put a wanted ad on here dude for a cheap m40 runner, someone will reply very quickly, saves them using em as tool benches. lol
