try Spadge or ChrisW, possible andyp didn't know there was a problem or that it has just developed with the clocks being out of the car.

TBH not really sure how how the clocks work but if they have been disconnected from the car long enough its possible the batteries have been maintaining the 'memory' of the service indicators and run flat. Have you taken the other clocks apart, chances are the might be in better condition but just have flat batteries rather than leaked ones.
