Wouldn't matter if you had, or even if you hadn't plugged it in at all. It's only powered on to force the heater to completely cold.
Check that the heater pipes are on the right way around - bottom stub pipe goes to the back of the cylinder head, then, if they are the right way around, fill the coolant bottle to the top, remove the top heater pipe, let the air out, along with some coolant, and put the hose back on.

All sorted now, heaters are nice and hot, carpet has had a partial clean today (partial because the head on the old dears Vax is too big to do the job :mad: ) and the plan for saturday is to get on it with a shed load of scrubbing, jet washing and more scrubbing.

I just want to say thanks again to everyone who's helped or offered advice on this thread as you've saved me so much time, effort and swearing (altho there was still a fair bit of that!).
