Ta very much, I have put a lot of effort into her. I try to be meticulous in my preparation.bmbartlett wrote:cheers for that, good advice. loving your project by the way. Any particular small gun you recommend? you have a very nice finish on your bodywork
For everything except spraying filler-primer I use a Sata minijet spray gun with a 0.8mm nozzel. I have no idea what these sell for now.

2K paints use a cyanoacrylate based hardner for which the chemically correct thinner (believe it or not) is acetone. I thin my final coat with a half/half mix of 2K thinner and acetone to around 40% by volume. The thinner mix gives me a near perfect finish and the volatile acetone ensures I don't get any runs.
If anyone doubts that this works, then don't try it. I'm simply expressing the way I do what I do and I lay no claim to having either perfect knowledge or a perfect technique.
Oh, and another tip to keep in the back of your head for when you start painting. Adjust the fan size to give you the most uniform distribution of paint, not the size that you want. Your most expensive guns will give you a near ideal distribution of paint in the fan, regardless of the size you adjust it to (within reason), your cheaper guns won't. However, you can get good results, even with a cheap gun, simply by adjusting the fan while spraying a test panel in order to optimise the distribution of paint within the fan.
