welded diffs add provenence to any classic car - everyone knows that.. In fact I decided to take the arc to the lotus, the rotoflex bushes will absorb any unwanted stresses a treat.
I had a chat with Palmer on the weekend and he's well excited with my new business proposition of a weld-your-diff-while-you-wait stand at oulton park, We're having aphex twin in for the day to boot. Stephen Hawking got wind and we're patenting the idea for when we make contact with extra terrestrial lifeforms..
The trouble is that a welder voidy void voids insurance policies, but whilst that's ok on track. I can't vouch for the legistation in other solar systems. Working on it though

Ok so it Voidy void void void's insurance policies even when they state that they accept it as a modification and cover it! cause clearly your using solid facts and evidence as part of your statement... Oh wait no your just like the rest of them pulling you own ideals out of your arse and shoving them in every one else's faces
Just to recap
No question regarding legalities, safety, is it going to kill my car?
question i was angling at was will it leak if i bolt it back up and slam it on.

IS it just going to be a case of put new bolts in and tighten them up?
Cheers

Its all abit irrelevant though isnt it, its not like those that disagree with welded diffs are going to call the diff police and have you arrested over it,
But I do think being overly offensive to other zoners who have oodles of knowledge, will only come back to bite you in the butt when you need some info and or help

in all seriousness.. this is a bit of a whacky thread
Not sure if it will leak sooner than would be normal to be honest, but it's increasing the likelyhood. It's the knock on effect which as has been discussed which is more of a concern - for me in any case.. Welding it up, obviouisly locking the planetaries up will extend its life in that sense, they're ususlly the bits that self destruct.

In all fairness, read back over the first page... He was being polite as much as he could with people giving him opinions on welded diffs. That wasnt his question.Rich320I wrote:Its all abit irrelevant though isnt it, its not like those that disagree with welded diffs are going to call the diff police and have you arrested over it,![]()

His question was placed in tech help, not general chat.
Answer to your question, bolt them back up tight and you should be good to go. But im guessing you've already done that

Cheers for the advice mate. i try not to be offensive. i love the knowledge of some of the zoners and they have helped me out extensively in the past. but when it becomes to 6 pages of a solid opinionated argument you kinda lose your rag with it all. especially when a mod comes on and unlocks it just to have one last say about it. It's kind of like a power hungry policeman getting the last laugh. Cheers anyways guys
yeah mate i wasnt saying reel your neck in or anything like that, just more the fact we are all in the same game of trying to keep these cars on the road, and good advice is worth its weight in gold to me anyway
Also im one of those totally sad people who if at all possible, dont like putting someones nose out of joint.
anyways its all pie in the sky because your car bud, as above thankfully theres no such thing as the diff police, sure someone would have anomously called them by now
