Right, and sorry if I have not searched forum entirely for previous threads.

The car has developed a grinding noise from the front end but only when I go over a slight incline, ie, speed bump, kerb, but no noises when driving even when over rough un-even road. There is also no noise when I bounce the front end by hand, seems to be when moving forward with resistance against wheels.

I must admit I have not crawled underneath yet, I am just after pointers as what to look for, i have looked under arches and springs are intact.

Any help, as always, appreciated :D

most definitely should have a look at the front absorbers .
happened to me before , had some clunking noise in the front whenever i go over a bump or even a kerb . happens at both low & high speed.

it'd be good if you could try changing to a working condition absorber if you have any to see whether it has a difference.

took me a good 2months to finally found out it was an absorber shock ring that came off the tube . hence the clunking .

these kind of problems are very hard to rectify when the car is stationary.

hope this will help

Are you arch liners secure?...I had a little off road excursion (bl**dy dich finder rear tyres) and damaged mine, now I get a rub on lock, have a look for a clean patch where the tyre has caught it.

Cheers daimlerman, def not arch liners, it is a definate grinding noise, shockers seem to work as should, bounce car up and down with each side returning level within one bounce and no sounds at all, springs seem fine they are not loose, need to get car jacked up and have a good look, thanks again
