When I jack one side of my IS up at the rear, in neutral with the handbreak off, and turn the wheel there is a fair amount of resistance and the wheel stops dead as soon as you stop turning it. This makes me think it might ba a slipper. If I am lucky!
But when both rear wheels are jacked up and you spin one (there is still a fair amout of resistance) but the other wheel turns in the oppersite direction. Does that mean its an open diff or not ?

there should be a little resistance
if the wheels go in the opposite direction you have an open diff.
if the wheels go in the opposite direction you have an open diff.

i saw 1 in bmw breakers near me it was off the car just marked up e30 325 diff. i turned it where prop bolts up a both sides spun same way so is that a lsd?
