Ive written in before about twice and those two times have been told how to stop my bmw e30 320i convertible from cutting out or from jerking so much wen station or when driving, the two possiblities were crankshaft sensor & air filter, ive checked the both of them and replaced them both with brand new ones but still does it...its really annoying cuz im scared to drive my car now thinking it will cut out etc so i just dont touch it.
i have been told it could be AFM or ICV but i have no idea how much it would cost to replace or to get it sorted out by mechanics or how to do dat or where to look as there is no diagram for this, also would the AFM OR ICV make the difference? could it be anything else?Or wat about the fuel pump?
*ive serviced this car just last month**
*help!!!

it could be a bad connection/broken wire to the fuel pump. does it cut out everytime you drive it? does it just die or does it splutter then cut out?
it cuts out like out of 10 times ide say cuts out 7 time sout of 10 in a day...well it just drives n then jerks really violently n then jus cuts out (dies) and then i have to park to side and re-start the car ...it happens alot if i put my foot down on the accelerator?!?!
Well to best describe it then idle of the car jumps up and then drops all the way to 0 revs n judders as if it abotu to cut out and then quickly races back upto 1000revs n den goes to 500 revs n stays there until i press the accelerator again and will do same again...thats if station if drivign it will jerk bak n forth n den jus die..

take the idle control valve off and clean it out, i had a similar problem and that was the culprit, also check the rubber hose from the air filter to the throttle body for cracks.

ive had a very similar problem too.
i replaced the fuel pump and the fuel pump relay but was neither of these.
but after much seaching it turns out the white DME relay (by the fuel pump relay) is the most likely culprit so i got a new one today and its been running fine today but might be too soon to tell
id suggest going to a garage and see if theyve got one for u (a local garage here gave it to me for free!)
good luck

ok but where is the ICV located?? this first time ive owned a bmw e30 so not to sure on where the bits are..been lookign for an onlien diagram of the bmw engien with points on wat is wat and hwo to remove etc but had no luck??!?!
See thats i did before, i change dmy crankshaft sensor and air filter drove it for a day at least 15 miles to check just in case took it on motorway etc and it was fine, the very next day it started doing ti again jerkign all over the place, i will try the ICV clean up if that dont work then Daveburke lemme kno if your white DME relay has sorted the porblem out then i might aswell change that just incase.
