This morning I drove the car down to get the new hood fitted, but when I staretd the car I noticed that the heaters weren't working (they never worked on position 3 anyway), but if I put them on (so I could clear the screen when moving at least) the rev counter stopped working until I switched them off.

I checked that the passenger side window still wouldn't go up or down without the door open (a problem I had a year ago on BOTH doors, and heaters, and mirrors but eventually sorted -or so I thought until it recently resurfaced on the passenger door only), and as expected it wouldn't. The drivers window always works properly.

Heated seats still worked though!

I then drove down to the hood place and turned off the car and took my keys out and got out of the car, but then realised that the car was still running! I tried various things to stop it including lights on and off, turning the car on and off (or what should have been off) and the windows up and down. None of these things worked, but I did notice that the passenger window now worked with the door shut whilst ticking over as it should!

I then became angry, and just reversed the car into the hood shop, stalled it, disconnected the battery and went home wondering what the hell was wrong with it!

Does anybody have any ideas? I didn't check the electric mirrors, and won't be able to until tomorrow when the car is picked up -I just hope it starts, I forgot to check that!

In general, my car has various electrical problems that pop up, that my brother does his best to fix, but they are beggining to really get me down, and I was wondering, does anybody know if there anywhere in or between yorkshire/cheshire (cheap) that can sort all my electrical problems for good? I will go further if the price is right.

Cheers
Ed

Most of these faults are associated with the unloader relays, so the smallest connection on the starter motor should be the focus of your attention.
Nothing to do with the non stopping though. Ignition switch is one possibility, as is aftermarket wiring.
