Just a quick one for ya. I'm gonna do a quick bit of repair work on my steering wheel and I'm not having much luck hoying it off. Am I missing something like Locking nuts or something else cos the damn nut seems like it's welded on! I haven't started swinging off it yet but before I start putting all 17 stones of my ample build into the getting the nut off is there anything I need to be aware of. Cheers

It's a nylock 22mm nut that will with force undo anti clock wise - if you can get some body to pull the wheel in the clock wise direction at the same time so as not to break the steering lock.

Once the nut and washer are undone, put the keys in the ignition barrell and click to the first position, then pull straight off.

That's all there is to it fella

Tip - leave the nut on about 1 turn when you pull the wheel towards you whilst wiggling from side to side.
Leaving the nut on prevents the painful experience of smacking yourself in the face with your own steering wheel!

Don't try to undo the nut with the steering lock on!!! :clin: You'll break either the lock or the steering wheel boss.
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

Cheers for the advice gents and special metion goes to Breadbin for the spot on recommendation with leaving the nut on loose, should save a battering to the face with the steering wheel! I'll get my housemate in to help with the job and should hopefully pop it off without breaking the steering lock. I can then get down to the real manly work of needle and thread to get the leather back on the wheel. I reckon it'll be perfect for doing in front of Friday night shite tv as I'm skint and keeping my head down till pay day! Cheers Lads
