Can anyone tell me please whether the join between the inner arch and the outer is welded or just sealed with BMW's seam sealer?

Many thanks :D :D

Front or rear.

Fronts are just bolted on I believe.

Sorry should have specified, its the rear.

Annoying because the joining edge of the inner has gone nearly all the way round but the outer is fine bar a few scabs on the lip at the back edge so don't need replacing/spraying.

I would probably use panel adhesive on the lip to the inner arch very strong and it will seal it at the same time.
If I can't fix it I'll f**k it up so bad nobody can!!

The inner and outer are spotwelded together along the 90° return at the edge.....

So if it was spot welded there it shouldn't damage the paint on the outside of the outer arch should it?

no only on that lip on the inside of the arch. a little bit of touching up on that lip shouldnt be that visable unless your under the car.
