Hi,
Can I replace all the shocks with aftermarket bits or are there special M tec ones that I should have?

Mike this is a can of worms!
would you like standard style or uprated, what are you going to use this chariot for? As there are good road shocks, good track shocks and shocks with do both pretty well.

At the moment, recreating the ride as was intended with the original car is good for me. cost is also an issue at the moment too so i can't get bilstein all round like barry

when i did mine i used the lowing springs and boge gas shocks from GSF held the road pretty good and not to hard. I also changed all the bushes etc as well as tie rods and wish bones can remember the full price but was less than £500 for the lot

boge mtec shocks are the same as the later sport was fitted with and are available from GSF for reasonable money these plus new rubber and you should be well under £500

Boge? Never heard of them, but if they are the same then that's great. What fo you mean by 'later' sport?

Nice, does softer mean better for road/everday but worse for handling, or is it marginal between them?

marginal really with the early cars having the edge but boge was on the tech2's from new and they work well enough if in good shape.
