Hope someone can help with this,
the pipe which leaves the bottom of the clutch fluid reservoir on my 318is is all rotten ( guessing fluid leak has caused this?) The pipe appears to go into the bulkhead at a totally inaccesible point, just below the battery tray. Has anyone on the zone ever managed to change this ?
Also have a fluid leak from near the gearbox , am i right in assuming that i'l be needing a new slave cylinder as well ?

The hose is actually a doddle to change - just pushes on to the master cylinder. It's quite usual for the cloth outer sheath to be frayed - is the rubber rotten?

Your slave certainly sounds to have failed, and you should really change both master and slave together.

thanks chris,
it is possibly just the outer sheath then, fingers crossed, although if i'm doing both cylinders, i guess it'l be best to change the pipe as well if its that easy.
Would ECP parts be ok for cylinders do you think?

From memory I think they offer two options for both - go for the more expensive ones.
