oil filter

just got an oil filter from GSF.all there was in the box was the filter, should there have been rubber seals with the filter? :?
all advice greatly received.

in that case you should of got a big O ring for the oil filter housing top, a small O ring for the centre bolt
and a sump plug washer.

How much did you pay as Genuine OEM filters are pretty cheap now??

All the M40 filters I've bought have had a couple of O rings with them, and an aluminium washer, IIRC.
