How do you get the bush to slide all the way down to the shoulder on the control arm?!!!

I have got E36 M3 3.0 eccentric bushes in the old lollipops and having put the new bushes in, need to fit the bush to the control arm. I have got it so far down the shaft but not all the way to the shoulder.
I have put the lollipop in the vice and lent on the arm from above with little success!

Any help would be most splendid!

Thanks

Use lots of watered down fairy liquid. I also used a rubber hammer.

Make sure the ends of the control arms are clean and that you put the car to standard level within 2hours so they can "set" to the control arms properly.

Don't use a permanent lubricant, or you will quickly ruin your new bushes.

Cool, thaks for the help! job jobbed, but couldn't get the old track rod ends off so have given up for tonight. Will "ease" the housing apart in order to undo the rod ends next time!
