im building a track car and need to remove as much weight as possible.

the wiring and central locking gubbins in the doors is an easy hit...or so i thought. i unplugged the wiring but the locks dont lock the doors anymore.

any ideas why not?

Because the mechanical linkage is worn/seized/out of adjustment, and has been relying on the lock motors to work the locks. Not unusual. Good door lock service required!

so is it just a case of pulling it all out of the door and checking/repairing the linkage from the lock to the lever assy?

I'll be interested in any reply too! I'm in midst of replacing my actuators and cant seem to get the linkage to work - thought it might be worn but trying to see it or get it out appears to be a nightmare only to be done with someone double jointed and with arms of matchstick width! How's it done anybody?
I gave up and went to bed!! - Sorry to be so depressing :x

Bottom part of the window guide swings up out of the way just by removing a single bolt, and if you still need more room, the whole window winder mech. comes out in a couple of minutes.
