Hi all
Very simple, I am sure...but when I go to the local petrol pump I have a choice of 95 or 97 RON unleaded petrol.
Which is preferable? and why?
Cheers
Which grade of petrol?

Hello mate,
I remember reading somewhere that some of the higher octane unleaded has more sulphur in it which is bad for the M20 engine. I think it is best to run your e30 on standard unleaded most of the time, but it wouldn't do any harm to put the odd tank of Optimax (or whatever) in your tank!
I think although there is some difference in fuel economy when using higher octane, i don't think performance is GREATLY increased.

This has been discussed loadsa times mate. use the search button ( http://www.e30zone.co.uk/modules.php?na ... ile=search )
I have the same engine as you. Unmodified there's no performance difference but slightly better fuel economy, although... the better economy is offset by the higher price so, bugger all difference there too.
