afaik you need to swap the chip in the 320 ecu for a 325 one.
I have one you can buy.

Thing is, the engine came out of a G reg 320i touring - I'm waiting for Gaszman to get in touch so I can ask him for either the ECU, or the part number on the ECU (as I know it ran with that ECU).
So the engine wouldn't run at all on a 320i ECU?

I dont know if it will run or not with the 320 ecu... My uneducated guess would be no. But I dont know much...
Have you checked everything else that could be causing it not to work?
Is it turning over but just not firing?
