For the last couple of months I've been dealing with strange noises in the rear end. I will try to describe the sound. It is not constant and sometimes shows once a day, sometime more than 10 times. It's like ''clunk'' or ''think'' sound, like metal hitting to metal
Pretty weird. I've jacked the car up and everything seems fine, my dad checked everything and nothing seems suspicios.
Did anyone had similar problems? Thanks for any help

Why buy these after market ones (I know the one in the pic is an OE make), when for the same price (taking postage into account), you can buy genuine E46 cab ones from a BMW dealer, complete with BMW 2 year warranty?
To check your existing ones, partly remove the boot liner so that you can see the tops of the dampers on the wheel arch.
Bounce the car. The thread protruding through the middle of the mount should not move around.

Just one example! Always check dealer prices - you will often be pleasantly surprised (and horrified at other times).
Generally, genuine BMW dealer spares are cheaper than dealer spares for most other makes.
Incidentally, the E46 cab rear mount is a direct replacement for the E30 ones, no more expensive, and much longer lasting.
